Hi everyone! I just had a client ask me about this today and decided it might be a good thing to share with everyone.
If you're like me summer is sneaking up on you this year.
With our glorious 100+ degree heat these nasty buggers are coming out as well. Mosquitoes carry a host of pathogens that can be transmitted to both humans and animals. Everything from malaria, dengue, West Nile virus, heartworm, tularemia, Western equine encephalitis, Eastern equine encephalitis, Venezuelan equine encephalitis, and our newest one Zika virus.
I have placed a link here from the Maricopa county Mosquito Prevention Page, which is a great resources and has a lot of practical information on it on how to keep mosquitoes away from you and your animals. The page also gives you the number to order mosquito-eating fish called gambusias. These can be placed in animal water troughs, ponds and any area where there may be standing water. I would encourage you all to visit the page and if you live in Maricopa county to request some fish!!
